As a corporate financial sponsor for Back-2-School 2009, you will be supporting Georgia Justice Project’s Back-2-School Program in its efforts to help grade school children from client families and children entering elementary school at the John Hope Elementary School, the neighborhood school located in the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic District where GJP is located.

Children served by GJP and the students at John Hope Elementary share a common thread. They all live with risk factors to the cycle of poverty and crime. Many are already victim to it. Back-2-School is a worthwhile effort launched to provide these children with educational resources and supportive learning tools that are not only required for them to start school but will also encourage them to achieve academic success in the upcoming school year. It is our hope that these resources and the community support they receive at the Back-2-School 2009 event on July 25th will inspire them to even greater academic achievement throughout their lives.

This is important because for most of these children, education is the only hope they have to overcome issues related to poverty.
