__''“GSU Law Prof Sparks Traffic Court Reform, Frees Inmates"''__ was the recent headline of the Fulton County Daily Report. Clark Cunningham, a Georgia Justice Project volunteer, in working with a client who was incarcerated for eight days (with no hearing or lawyer) for riding his bicycle on the sidewalk, found that the City of Atlanta was routinely and unconstitutionally incarcerating people for minor traffic offense. Clark and Executive Director Doug Ammar sent a letter to city officials who concurred and agreed to change the system immediately. Our client, who is out of jail, just celebrated his birthday and is doing better.
