2018 Back to School Initiative

One of the things that makes Georgia Justice Project special is the long-term relationships that we build with our clients and their families.  We are deeply committed to helping our families overcome their encounter with the criminal justice system and forge a positive path forward.  Through our annual Back to School Initiative, we ensure that the children of our clients all start their academic year with a new backpack and all of the required school supplies.

This year, we need 325 new backpacks filled with the Atlanta Public Schools’ list of required school supplies (click here for attached list). Will you help us by committing to one of the levels below?

  • Individuals – 1 or 2 backpacks
  • Small Firms – 5 backpacks
  • Churches/Synagogues – 10+ backpacks
  • Medium Firms/Companies – 10+ backpacks
  • Large Firms/Companies – 20+ backpacks

Please call or email Lori Glidewell, GJP’s Director of Development, with your commitment, and she will let you know which age(s) and gender are needed most.  Lori can be reached at (404) 827-0027, ext. 217, or Lori@GJP.org

In addition to backpacks, cash contributions are also needed to help cover the expenses for this much-loved event.  You can make a financial contribution here or by mailing your check to “Georgia Justice Project” at 438 Edgewood Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA  30312.

All backpacks need to be received at Georgia Justice Project’s office by 3:00pm on Monday, July 9, 2018.
