Understanding, Restricting, and Correcting Criminal Records in Georgia: Informing Your Clients and Helping them Move On
This three hour class is designed to inform attorneys and other advocates that work with individuals with a criminal history about state and federal law around criminal histories. Topics include: record restriction (expungement), pardons, First Offender Act issues, record corrections, and employment discrimination based on criminal records. The cost for private attorneys is $100 and the cost for public defenders and solicitors or non-profit service providers is $30. The fee (which covers CLE credit) helps defray the cost of the printed manual and support Georgia Justice Project’s efforts to remove legal barriers to reentry for people with a criminal history.
