Georgia Justice Project partnered with the Access to Justice (A2J) Committee of the State Bar of Georgia to host a criminal records clinic in Albany, GA this past Saturday. GJP trained volunteer attorneys from all around the state who counseled over 250 people about their criminal history. Special guests included Justice Robert Benham of the Supreme Court of Georgia and Judge Willie Lockette, Chief Judge of the Dougherty Judicial Circuit. This event was co-hosted by the State Bar Pro Bono Resource Center, Dougherty County Law Library, and various faith organizations.
Thank you to the Access to Justice Committee, the volunteer lawyers, the State Bar of Georgia, Mt Zion Baptist Church, Dougherty County Law Library, GABWA-Albany Division, and the Administrative Office of the Courts for making this event happen.
