GJP Hosts Another Successful Back to School Initiative

On July 13th, Georgia Justice Project gathered with staff, volunteers, and clients current and former for our annual Back to School Initiative. For over 15 years, GJP has held this summer event to catch up with members of the GJP family, as well as gear up over 250 children of our clients in preparation for a successful school year. This year’s event was a day of games, prizes, treats, and dancing with Atlanta Hawks cheerleaders and mascot, Harry the Hawk.
Thanks to our supporters – who donated backpacks, school supplies, cash and volunteer support – we were able to provide over 275 backpacks filled with all required school supplies to our clients’ children, along with fun activities, crafts, lunch, sweets, and more.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all of our sponsors and volunteers who helped make the event a success including: Alston & Bird, The Home Depot, UPS, King & Spalding, Georgia-Pacific, The Coca-Cola Company, Norcom, Troutman Sanders, the Kiwanis Foundation, Parker Poe, Chick-fil-A, and the TEGNA Foundation. Thank you again for your continued support of our organization, mission, and the people we serve.
