Executive Director Doug Ammar Featured in “Released”

Executive Director Doug Ammar is featured in “Released,” a film presented by the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. “Released” is a powerful documentary highlighting the importance of employment for the success of returning citizens. Georgia Justice Project works with the state legislature and advocates for laws to reduce barriers to reentry for the 4.2 million Georgians with a criminal history. GJP at Bill Signing Ceremony for HB 261

GJP staff looked on as Governor Deal signed HB 261 on May 8th. HB 261 clarifies that the retroactive first offender statute, which went into effect in 2015, applies to all eligible cases since 1968.
